Ideal
for those who want to experience a safari to the world's best
game reserve and beach retreat - a popular itinerary embracing
a journey along the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley and
on to the open plains of the Masai Warriors Mara home lands. |

The Masai Mara is the top game reserve in Africa,
with the highest population of game; elephant, rhinos,
giraffe, zebra, buffalo, wildebeest, etc. Few experiences
can match the excitement of seeing the lion "King of
Beasts" in the wild for the first time. Safari the vast
rolling savannah with the herds of big game. See hippos
and crocodiles splashing and sun bathing in the Mara
River and you may spot a leopard in the acacia woodland.
The Mara is also the homeland of the Masai, Kenya's
most famous and fearsome tribe. These tall, proud pastoral
wanderers cut a striking figure as they cross the plains,
draped in red cloaks and beaded jewellery.

You will enjoy your tropical vacation
on Kenya's idyllic white-sand beaches, fringed with
lazy palms. Stretching all along the coast is a magnificent
coral reef, which protects Kenya's shores from the rough
seas and creates a warm gentle playground for swimmers
and windsurfers. The Indian Ocean coastal Waters, teeming
with tropical fish and bright corals are a treasure
trove for scuba divers and snorkellers - you can also
see them from a glass-bottom boat. Large areas of the
coral reef lie within marine park reserves, thus protecting
this unique and fragile environment. |

The Masai Mara, Africa's best game reserve.
Nearly 600sq miles of savannah grasslands ideal for game viewing.
To the west is the Oolulu escarpment, a 1000 ft high wall; to
the east are the loita hills. This reserve is run by the Narok
County Council, which is predominately Masai. They do not permit
any settlements in the reserve and have successfully limited the
tourist lodges, which has stopped the park being over populated
with tourists. There are several rivers running through the reserve,
the largest being the Mara River. These rivers produce many strings
of eco systems giving rise to pools of crocodiles, hippos with
many birds rousting in the tree lined river banks. You will find
here all of the Big Seven (Elephant, Hippo, Rhino, Giraffe, Buffalo,
Lion, Leopard) and it is particularly known for its black maned
lions. There presence gives testimony to the supply of big game
in the area.
Because of the limited amount of accommodation in the area, it
is necessary to book early. As this is one of the best known game
reserves in the world.
