What our customers say:
Dear Sirs,
My wife and I
have just returned home from a Safari and beach holiday in Kenya.
Our Driver for the Safari and Game Drives was Duncan, and we promised
him that we would let him know that we arrived home in England safely.
Could you please tell him, and thank him again for a wonderful
time. He is an excellent Guide and Driver, and we shall
ask for him again when we come back. (As you probably know from
our completed questionnaire). Please tell him that we shall send him
some photographs soon. Thank you to everyone at Raj Air for a great
time - you were regarded highly everywhere we stayed, especially at
Pinewood Village.
Sincerely,
David and June Mitchell - England

Cindy and Family
Thank you so much for
organising our holiday of a lifetime.
Rajair have been brilliant + Duncan, our driver has been so lovely
and shown us some wonderful animals. We were very lucky and saw a
leopard come down from his tree for a kill, 12 lion in a pride, cheetah,
elephants and masses more. The children didn't want it to end. The
Hotels were lovely, especially The Mara Simba!
Thanks again,
Cindy and Family.
David
We had a great holiday
thank you. We were impressed with the organisation and everything
went like clockwork. The safari surpassed our expectations and we
saw the migration, the "Big Five" and lots more. The game
lodges were excellent and Pinewoods was an experience in itself. Perhaps
the most memorable thing about the holiday was seeing Kenya and the
Kenyan people themselves.
Kindest Regards,
David (Dr)

Thank you for your message.
We had an outstanding honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
We saw all manner of big game including leopard and cheetah. Loldia
house was superb, and a very good place to relax. While we were there
all of the guests (8 in total) were honeymooners! Peter, who runs
the place, is a wonderful character. I would love to go back there
one day. Mara Sekenani camp was extremely comfortable and we were
very well looked after.
It really was a once
in a life-time experience, and we will always have very special memories
of our time in Kenya. Thank you very much for all your enthusiasm
and assistance in organising our trip.
Yours,
Charles and Alex

Thanks for your latest
e-mail. Sorry I have not been in touch earlier but we are still trying
to settle down to normality again.
We had a wonderful time
and the weather was superb. The accommodation was all very good and
the food excellent.
We found the people extremely
friendly and there really isn't anything to fear.
Thank you for arranging
everything for us. The organisation was excellent and everything went
according to plan. We will strongly recommend you to our friends and
I think my husband's brother is planning on a trip to Kenya in the
very near future.
Thanks again,
Seema

Back from Kenya a week
ago - had a blindingly good time & the kids loved it.
Saw everything on safari
except leopard and rhino, including cheetah with cubs, lion with cubs
and the whole migration thing going on - unbelievable!
Stay at pinewood was superb
- couldn't recommend it highly enough and thank you for suggesting
it as opposed to the sunbed-german-disco circus further up the coast!
It made for a really relaxing time when I can honestly say I didn't
think of work at all during the week we were there.
Thanks for your help in
sorting it all out - everything went superbly and your driver Nicholas,
for the game part was very good indeed.

We made it home after
probably the best safari we have had. Little Governors' and Loldia
were a delight all round, we saw just about everything including leopard
at Mara, Serena Beach was as good as we remembered (after changing
the room we were given) and the transfers seemed to work well. Thanks
for your help and we have already recommended you to a few people,
most of whom seem to have had inept service from other operators.
We will contact you when the Africa bug bites again.

Everything was fantastic.
We all had a ball and everything worked beautifully. Thanks for all
your hard work.

It was an amazing holiday!!
It really must be the
best holiday I have ever had. Even Jamaica wasn't this good B-)
We then went to Amboseli and experienced the bumpy roads that we would
grow to love <grin>
The Amboseli Serena was
lovely, quite classier than I expected although this was true of all
of the accommodation. It was nice to see the animals so close.
Samburu was good too and
I really like the Ark although we only stayed there. One night I saw
my only Rhino at 4 in the morning! Loldia house was as you said, an
absolute delight. We decided to rest here and not go to Nakuru. I
went fishing on my own on Lake Naivasha at 7:30 a.m in the sunshine
and watched in amazement as a flock of pelicans came and landed on
the water, about 50yds away! I thought I had died and gone to heaven.
The balloon trip over
the Mara is probably the highlight (there were so many!) The trip
was fantastic and the breakfast after was nice.
Aneel turned up at the
airport while we were waiting for our flight. I was very impressed
by that.
I have to say that I would
have no problem recommending you to anyone. There are a lot of other
Safari companies operating out there but the minibuses were packed
with people and I really would not have enjoyed that.
I think your idea of just
catering for the quality side is wonderful.
The service is first class.
I will send some pictures to you.
Many many thanks,
Tom

Lucy
Thank you for your message.
We had a brilliant time on safari. All the arrangements and transfers
were smooth. All the lodges were lovely and the staff couldn't have
been more welcoming- excellent service. There were no major problems
and any minor ones that occurred were dealt with swiftly (eg, the
inevitable flat tyre)it was all part of the adventure!
On behalf of myself, my
husband and father, we would all like to say how friendly and knowledgeable
our driver/guides were in both countries. Nicholas in Kenya and Cornelias
in TZ. They both contribute greatly to our memories of not only the
beautiful animals on safari but also the beautiful people of both
countries.
Thank you for all your
hard work to ensure everything was comfortable and smooth for us.
Take Care
Sincerely
Lucy

This is just a brief note
to say a very big thank you to all your staff involved in making our
event such a success, and to you personally for your help with the
organisation.
Our group has a fantastic
time out in Kenya and their feedback has been tremendous, please pass
on my comments and thanks to various hotel staff who all went out
of their way to look after us. In addition Duncan, Steven and Nicolas
were all firm favourites with the group and they did a sterling job.
I'm sorry I haven't written
earlier but since returning from our trip this has been the first
chance I've got to put pen to paper (or should that be fingers to
Keyboard).
Kind Regards
Karen

We thoroughly enjoyed
ourselves. The Nairobi hotel and the Lodges were extremely comfortable
and the service excellent, the staff being very friendly and helpful.
Nicholas, our driver became a good and informative friend and it was
with real regret that we said good-bye to him at the end of the trip.
Needless to say, we saw
many beautiful animals and birds in all the parks and had glimpses
of Kilimanjaro whilst in Amboseli.
The Rift Valley lodge
was extremely good and in beautiful grounds, but unfortunately the
view was spoilt by rain, which started soon after lunch. Fortunately
we had taken your advice and had a most enjoyable boat trip on lake
Naivasha in the morning. In the evening my grand daughter's 21st birthday
cake was brought in by the cook followed by about a dozen of the staff,
all chanting their welcoming song and happy Birthday to You! It was
a celebration to remember for all of us, and the lovely cake was shared
by all the staff and us. Thank you so much for arranging this.
We took the opportunity
of calling in the Nairobi office to let them know how much we enjoyed
the safari.
We would have no hesitation
in recommending Rajair Travel & Tours to anyone who wants a Kenya
Safari arranged. I on behalf of the family, thank you all so much
for the wonderful time we had.

Linda
Hello again
We had a super time and
your brother was kind enough to meet us at Nairobi when we arrived.
The charter aircraft company (internal flight) appeared to be run
by a couple of elderly men (well they seemed older than we are anyway!!),
the flight took about an hour from Nairobi to Galdessa's nearest strip,
which appeared to be at the Park Headquarters a couple of kilometres
from the gate just close to the Voi road. From the park entrance there
is about another 45 minutes drive to the camp which as you know is
located on the opposite bank of the river to the Yatta Plateau (longest
plateau in the world) Galdessa is an open camp - i.e. there is no
fenced boundary and the animals can wander about freely.
There are 2 single bull
elephants, which visit the camp every day and one was on the lawn
when we arrived - both animals have only one tusk each but you can
tell which is which as one has a right tusk and the other has only
got his left tusk. The staff are very wary of these animals and we
could not get out of the land-rover until 'Tusker' (as this one was
named) was moved off - he likes the duma palm nuts and even when we
had got from the land-rover into the main communal dining/lounge he
tried to knock some of the roof to pieces.
For our own safety we
had to be escorted between the lounge and our 'tent' each time especially
at night when hippos took a turn on the lawn - during the day the
room boy (Elvis) led us but after dark it was the turn of 2 Masai
dressed askari (both full adorned in all their jewellery, spears and
hairstyles that some modern girls would die for). Our 'tent' - actually
it was a mix between canvas sides and front door, which opened during
the door and a permanent palm thatched roof - the bathroom was a permanent
attachment at the rear under the same roof but rough hewn wood walls
and a stone floor - wash basin and shower - canvas bucket with very
hot water. The whole structure was raised on stilts as the ground
below, being the riverbank, was uneven.
We were the only people
staying there for 3 of the nights and we had the most easterly tent
which meant that we had an uninterrupted view out across the park
- a viewing platform had also been attached to this particular tent
so we could literally 'go upstairs' to see further a field - it was
large enough to sun bathe and there was bed to sleep on if the nights
got too hot. The camp is almost split into 2 halves - the original
part with its communal lounge fitted out for about 8/9 people and
then well spaced apart 3 tents to its eastern side - this is the part
we used. The kitchens, office etc
fitted into the middle area
and then to the west there was another lounge and more accommodation
for about another 10/12 people - we didn't get a chance to check this
part out.
The food was very good
three course lunches and dinners, lots of it and well presented, a
bit incongruous out in the bush but waiter service as well, not buffet
style meals. there is a bias towards Italian as the co-manager there
at the moment is a young Italian girl but considering everything has
to be brought into the park from Voi which is about 35k away the staff
do a splendid job. Everyone was very friendly and bush breakfast was
arranged one morning and another night by way of a change we had sundowners
on the riverbank.
One morning instead of
a game drive we went fishing in the local river only yards from hippos,
we caught some cat fish and Chris landed an eel - this was obviously
a good catch as we only got to eat the cat fish - the eel 'got lost'
on the way back to the kitchen. The land at Tsavo was very dry and
there is a lot of scrub for the animals to hide in, many water courses
still held a patch of water but these would be hidden away from the
roads (which you have to stay on) consequently game viewing is not
easy like it is on the Mara.
There are plenty of elephant
but we only seemed to see the other animals in smaller groups - groups
of zebras of about 6 or 8, gazelles in maybe groups of 10. Strangely
though we saw the most giraffe together as a group that we have ever
seen - must have been about 15 and one huge herd of buffalo moving
in the distance - the dust cloud was more obviously than they were,
our driver estimated at least 1500 animals probably more.
I would certainly recommend
Galdessa, however it did have one problem, which is the wind. It blows
continually up the valley from the east - it is cooling during the
day and you have to be careful because you don't realise how hot the
sun is. At night is seems to blow even stronger but all the time anything
and everything has to be put away or held down. This is not a problem
for visitors as you only have to put up with the wind for a few days,
but to live there permanently would be another problem altogether.
I'll have to finish this part now as I'm late for work - I'll be in
touch with the next instalment about the fishing tomorrow.
Best wishes
Linda.
